LIP BLUSH PRE AND POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Pre-Appointment Instructions

To ensure the best outcome for your lip blush treatment, we kindly ask for your attention to the following guidelines:

1. Skin Thinning Products: Please refrain from using any skin thinners, such as Vitamin A, glycolic acids, or exfoliation, on the lip area for at least 2 weeks prior to your appointment. This will help create an optimal canvas for the treatment.

2. Waxing: If you plan to wax your lips, we recommend doing so at least 2 days before your appointment. This will allow the skin to heal properly and ensure a smooth application of the lip blush.

3. Avoid Certain Substances: To minimize excess bleeding and potential impacts on your results, we kindly request that you avoid consuming alcohol, caffeine, and taking any blood thinners (such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or niacin) 48 hours before your procedure.

4. Bring Your Lip Style: You are welcome to come in with your lips drawn in the way you normally do. This will help us understand your desired lip shape, especially if you have a specific preference. However, if you are open to suggestions, our team is more than happy to help design a custom shape and color that will personally suit you.

5. Menstrual Cycle Sensitivity: It is possible to experience hypersensitivity and increased pain around or during your menstrual cycle. Please keep this in mind when scheduling your appointment and communicate any concerns you may have with our team.

6. Cosmetic Botox or Fillers: If you have recently received cosmetic Botox or fillers, we recommend waiting 2 weeks before your lip blush treatment. Alternatively, you can schedule your lip blush appointment 2 weeks after your Botox or filler procedure.

7. Blemishes, Sores, and Moles: We want to ensure the highest level of safety and quality for your lip blush treatment. Therefore, we will not be able to tattoo over any blemishes, sores, or moles in or around the lip area. It is important to have a healthy and clear canvas for the best results.

Your satisfaction and well-being are our top priorities. By adhering to these guidelines, we can ensure a successful and enjoyable lip blush treatment. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to provide you with a personalized and exceptional experience.

Pre-Care Instructions

To ensure the best outcome for your lip blush treatment, we kindly ask for your cooperation in following these guidelines:

1. Lip Preparation: It is important to have well-moisturized lips for the treatment. If your lips are dry, we will need to reschedule your appointment, and unfortunately, your deposit will be forfeited. To prepare your lips, we recommend exfoliating them three days before your appointment to remove any dry skin. You can use a lip scrub or create your own using a small amount of honey and brown sugar. This will help to ensure a smooth and even application of the lip color.

2. Lip Moisturization: In the week leading up to your appointment, it is crucial to moisturize your lips as much as possible. We recommend using Aquaphor, a highly effective lip moisturizer, to keep your lips hydrated and healthy. This will create a good base for the lip color and enhance the overall result.

3. Cold Sore Prevention: Cold sores can pose a risk for lip blush tattooing. If you have had a cold sore in the past, we strongly advise you to consult a doctor for an anti-viral medication before any lip procedure. This will help prevent an outbreak and ensure a smooth healing process. Even if you have not had a cold sore before, we recommend that all our clients take L-Lysine two weeks before the appointment and continue taking it for two weeks after the appointment. L-Lysine is known to reduce the risk of cold sore outbreaks and promote faster healing.

Post-Care Instructions

To ensure the best outcome for your lip blush treatment and a smooth healing process, we would like to provide you with the following guidelines:

1. Post-Treatment Care: After your lip treatment, it is normal for your lips to feel swollen and very dry. To prevent dryness, which can interfere with the healed color, it is important to apply ointment multiple times a day for at least 14 days following the treatment. We recommend using a clean q-tip to apply the ointment instead of your fingers to reduce the risk of infection.

2. Flakiness and Healing: Once your lips are no longer tender, they may become flaky. This is a normal part of the healing process, but it is important to avoid picking or scratching at them as it can reduce pigment absorption. During the healing process, it is also important to avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and direct water pressure on your lips. Once your lips are fully healed, you can use sunblock on them and resume wearing lipstick. It is advisable to avoid using glycolic, hydroxy, or fruit acid products on your lips.

3. Post-Treatment Side Effects: Redness, swelling, tenderness, and dryness are common side effects after the treatment. These effects will dissipate shortly as your lips heal. During the healing process, it is recommended to avoid oily, salty, acidic foods, and alcohol as they can potentially irritate your lips.

4. Individual Results and Touch-Up Session: Please note that every individual's lips are unique, and some clients may require a touch-up session to achieve their desired results. Factors such as sun damage, scar tissue, and implants can affect the outcome. If you have a history of fever blisters, cold sores, or chickenpox, we advise consulting a doctor for anti-viral medication prior to the procedure. Following all pre and post-treatment instructions is crucial for optimal results. We recommend scheduling a lip retouch session 30 to 45 days after the initial session to ensure optimal color retention.

5. Stages of Healing: It is important to understand that lips undergo three stages of healing: too dark, too light, and just right. This process typically takes about one month, so it is important to avoid friction on the lip area during this time.
